Outcrop: A knowledge base for software teams

I’m building Outcrop, a knowledge base for software teams, engineered for speed and efficiency.

Internal knowledge is almost as important as source code for software products. A reliable, efficient documentation is often one of the most critical pieces for a company’s success.

This is why there are countless tools for managing knowledge bases. The most prominent of which are decades old, and the most recent are still reliant on outdated technologies. Yet, our expectations and our devices capabilities have evolved way past what the market offers today.

I’ve worked with teams at companies of every size, from the smallest development agencies to some of the fastest growing and most influential tech companies. Over the years, I’ve observed, built, and expanded teams’ knowledge bases. I’ve experienced, first-hand, the shortfalls of the leading documentation tools along with those of in-house, makeshift solutions. Teams across all companies are frustrated by how slow, cluttered, and unintuitive knowledge base tools are. Many companies are in-between three (or more!) documentation tools, some of them commercial and the others are in-house, engineering-focused.

This is why I left my job at Stripe to start Outcrop. I’m building a new standard for documentation tools. It’s a modern, efficient, and streamlined product for knowledge bases for teams of all sizes.
